Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois!. Experience The Great River Road (the longest and most important scenic byway in America), through the Mississippi River. The Mississippi was a main means of moving goods between northern and southern states in the earliest days of the USA - and there is a lot of history of early industry and innovation in the towns along the river. With this Self-Drive package enjoy scenic stops along this important river; starting in Minneapolis (the major city in Minnesota). After that, drive along the Mississippi, to the south, to The Great River Road. There you will experience the living history of the region and cities, through music, local cuisine, as well as their history, like for example, in Hannibal, Missouri; (near the river, was home to American author Mark Twain and was an inspiration in his novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer). This is a flexible vacation package. Select your number of nights in each city, desired hotel and activities.
